You reach over to change the temperature on your AC and feel like you'll push right through your dashboard; that piece that holds the dash area to the right of your steering wheel isn't doing the job anymore, and its an easier fix than you may think!
The frame or "skeleton" holding your dashboard together in that area is something you could replace yourself without having to go to a mechanic shop if you don't mind to take a little time to do it.
To show what it would take, we asked our friend Raul (whom you would usually find sitting behind a desk analyzing data all day) to install one on our showroom Freightliner cab -- luckily he was all for it and we've got video of exactly what he did:
This piece directly replaces the Freightliner OEM part number A18-34683-005 so be assured that it will fit any year Freightliner Century and Columbia.
Although the clips are the only hardware included, you can easily reuse your original bolts to screw the piece into place or even resolve new screws with a quick run to the hardware store like many of our customers were able to do.
Here are a few reviews from people who have purchased this product:
"Just installed in my 2006 Columbia. Everything worked great and installation was easier than expected. Hardware was correct and I was able to fit it around the main panel without removing any air lines or electrical connections."
"M4-0.7 16mm screws will fit perfectly. They sell them at home depot. Or better of save the original clips."
"Excellent product, speedy delivery, could not ask for better service. Miami Star gets 10 stars from me. Will definitely use them again when I need truck parts."
